Paris Hilton Speaks Out After Hurtful Comments About Her Son: “Targeting a Child Is Unacceptable”
Paris Hilton has shared an emotional message with her followers after receiving harsh criticism online over a photo of her 8-month-old son, Phoenix Barron. The media personality, 42, took to Instagram to express her heartbreak and call out the negativity directed at her baby boy.
On October 19, Hilton posted several sweet photos of Phoenix’s first visit to New York City — a milestone moment she had looked forward to celebrating. However, some online users responded with unkind remarks about the child’s appearance, prompting Hilton to speak out in his defense.

One TikTok user even highlighted the negative comments, which led Hilton to respond directly, assuring her fans that Phoenix is “perfectly healthy” and that he “just has a large brain.”
In a follow-up Instagram Story, Hilton opened up about the emotional toll of facing such criticism as a new mother. “Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable,” she wrote. “But targeting my child, or anyone’s child for that matter, is unacceptable.”
She continued, “This breaks my heart more than words can express. I’ve worked hard to build a space filled with love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect that same level of respect in return.”
Hilton reflected on the challenges of being a parent in the public eye. “If I don’t post my baby, people assume I’m not a good mother. If I do, there are some who feel entitled to make cruel and hateful remarks.” Despite the criticism, she described her son as a “blessing,” adding that he is “perfectly healthy, adorable, and angelic.”
“I’ve dreamed of being a mom for as long as I can remember, and every day with him reminds me of what truly matters,” she said.

Hilton concluded her message by encouraging kindness and compassion, especially when children are involved. “It’s hard to understand how anyone could target such innocence. I hope we can all treat each other with a little more empathy.”
Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, welcomed Phoenix via surrogate on January 16, 2023. She announced his arrival with a heartwarming photo holding his tiny hand, captioned, “You are already loved beyond words 💙.”
In a recent interview, Hilton shared that she has strong support from her family, especially her parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton, and her sister Nicky Hilton. “They are absolutely obsessed with him,” she said. “I feel incredibly lucky to have such a supportive group around us.”
As Hilton embraces motherhood, she remains committed to creating a nurturing and positive environment for her family — both online and off.
