Valiente’s transformation after years of being abandoned on a terrace (video)
The dog spent a long time chained up in the sun, without food or water. Thanks to the reports, he was able to recover from the abuse and find a family.

Sadly, it’s all too common to see dogs abandoned on terraces , under the intense sun, without food or water. That was the case of Valiente , a dog in Mexico who lived chained to the roof of a house, struggling every day to survive. His situation seemed destined for a tragic end, but thanks to the intervention of a foundation, his life took an unexpected turn.
Late last year, the Seres Libres Foundation received several reports about Valiente , who had spent years exposed to heat, rain, and cold , with nothing but a chain around his neck that nearly suffocated him in a desperate attempt to escape. On November 6, the organization decided to intervene , despite having announced a pause in its activities due to exhausted resources. “We couldn’t leave him there,” they commented in a Facebook post.
With the help of authorities,
they managed to free the dog and immediately take him to a veterinary hospital. In a video shared on social media, Valiente was shown devouring a bowl of food and drinking water for the first time in a long time. This moment moved thousands of people, garnering more than a million likes on Instagram.

However,
Valiente’s health was critical: severe malnutrition, kidney damage from prolonged dehydration, and a history of extreme abuse. But thanks to medical care, the funds they managed to raise, and the love she received at the hospital,
she began to show signs of improvement.
Finally, on December 28th, the organization announced the news everyone had been waiting for: Valiente had been adopted. He now lives in a caring and loving home, with a family that offers him the life he always deserved . “He is pampered, smiling, and happy. We love these happy endings,” Seres Libres posted alongside a photo of Valiente, visibly recovered and in the arms of his new owner.
This story leaves us with a key message: it’s not just about having a dog; they are not objects; they need care, shelter, food, water, love, and everything that comes with responsible ownership.
