An emotional post from Jake Paul shows the YouTuber-turned-boxer reuniting with Mike Tyson at US President Donald Trump’s inauguration, as the social media star laments on ‘making history’ with Iron Mike.
One of the biggest events at the end of 2024 was the fight between internet sensation Jake Paul and legendary boxer Mike Tyson, as the 27-year-old took his biggest challenge yet against 58-year-old veteran Tyson, who had only fought one exhibition match in nearly two decades.
There was a barrage of controversy prior to the bell, with controversial rule changes, fears of cancellation, and rumors that the fight was fixed with a ‘script’, yet it remained an historic event for the pair and streaming host Netflix.
Over 60,000,000 households tuned in to watch Jake Paul win via decision, and the rather ‘friendly’ fight ended up being labelled boring by many who were expecting a bit more action.
The fight has clearly created a strong bond between Paul and Tyson though, as a recent emotional social media post from the former shows the pair reuniting at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration where they were both invited as guests.
Paul’s post, accompanied with an image of the two hugging, declared: “Brotherhood is hard to find. Thank you legend for making history with me.”
Jake Paul made it no secret that he was attending the inauguration having live-posted the lead up all over his Instagram feed, so this is the cherry on top of his rather comprehensive coverage of the event.
During this posting session Paul was also seen with two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor, who the former YouTuber extended a glove towards almost immediately after his fight with Tyson was over, so there’s clearly little bad blood between many of his sporting adversaries.
The fight between Paul and Tyson is likely one of the reasons that Paul earned a spot at the inauguration in the first place too, as he had extended an invite to the then-former president, although he did not end up attending.
Paul also pledged his support for Trump in an 18-minute-long video on X, claiming that he was ‘scared’ for his career but felt he needed to speak out to ‘save America’.

It’s also no surprise that the pair have remained acquainted following their fight, as their combined earnings stretched beyond $60,000,000 according to reports from CBS News.
The replies had a mixed response to Paul’s post, with one user remarking: “Even though it was most likely scripted, it was great to see Tyson in the ring. Was a first for me.”
Another has added: “Congratulations on scamming the world on the worst fight in history.” We’re not sure either Paul or Tyson will be too bothered though, and they can just use the wads of cash to block out the noise instead.

Jake Paul has revealed his one regret from his fight against Mike Tyson.
The YouTuber went head to head with the former boxing champion earlier this month.
The highly anticipated fight at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, was watched in person by 80,000 fans, with 65 million more streaming the action live on Netflix.

Paul came out victorious in the ring and has since shared his one regret from the win.
No, it has got nothing to do with the fact that he failed to achieve a knockout.
Instead, according to him, Paul actually did not want a knockout fight.
After the match, Paul told reporters: “I wanted to give the fans a show. I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”
However, the content creator recently appeared on his brother Logan’s podcast, Impaulsive, to share his thoughts on the fight.
Paul said: “I wish he would have put up a better fight so I could have risen more and done more.
“He was surviving, so that was the only thing I didn’t like.”
The fight was originally due to go ahead in July but had to be postponed when Tyson suffered health issues.

In the video, Logan said: “Some people were disappointed in Mike’s performance. They thought Mike would give more. You see those videos of him going crazy hard on those pads.”
To which Paul responded: “People are like, ‘Oh, it’s rigged because look at him on the pads, but he didn’t do this in the fight’. Because someone is f***ing punching back, you dumb f***s.
“You don’t realize my power, and my speed, and my agility, and my footwork to get out of the way of those punches.”
“All of a sudden he’s throwing at air. He can’t land those punches on me.
“He was hard to hit. He was elusive. I was missing a lot of punches. I don’t know how he gets off to the side like that.”
And apparently the punches that Tyson did land failed to have much impact on the social media influencer.
Paul went on to claim: “Didn’t feel a thing, to be honest. It didn’t hurt. He didn’t really land anything.”
It isn’t yet known who Paul’s next opponent will be, having previously lost in a head to head battle against Tommy Fury.
Paul said: “I want to be a world champion, that’s my goal.”

The big fight might be over before its begun, as an alleged ‘script’ for Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson has leaked ahead of their bout.
All the eyes in the world are on Netflix for this fight, as ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson (58) takes on former YouTuber Jake Paul (27) in his first professional contest in nearly two decades.
There have been a fair share of issues preceding the match, with an ulcer flare-up from Tyson delaying the fight from its original July 2024 date, and while the November 15 date does seem to be set in stone, some are beginning to question the legitimacy of the event.
There have already been concerns raised about bizarre rule changes that have increased the weight of the fighters’ gloves and reduced the time-per-round, but new heights have been reached as a ‘script’ has allegedly leaked that details a full rundown of the fight’s events.
Shared on social media, the ‘script’ in question details a round-by-round breakdown that ends in Round 5 with a knockout victory for Jake Paul.
It features highlights such as Tyson appearing ‘a fraction slower than in his prime’ in Round 1 but ‘coming alive’ in Round 2. Fatigue sets in for the 58-year-old as time wears on though, with Paul’s ‘perfectly devastating’ right hand knocks Tyson out for the count.
You do have to question whether ending a scripted fight in a knockout – especially with the loser being as old as Tyson – is a wise idea, and it’s hard to imagine that either fighter would agree to lose in this fashion, even for the shocking amount of money they’re set to make.

Tyson himself has made it clear when speaking to LADBible Group that he’s not fighting for the money: “This is what I want to do, this is me.” He declared, “I’m seeking my glory.”
The conspiracies haven’t stopped at a leaked script either, as some on social media have discovered that Google (by the way of USAToday) have supposedly spoiled the result ahead of time too.
In a search snipped answering the question of ‘Who won, Mike Tyson or Jake Paul?’, Google has pulled a quote from a USAToday article detailing that “Paul, the YouTuber-turned boxer, won the highly anticipated, 10-round fight by unanimous decision.”
Not only is this immediately incorrect anyway, due to the fact that Tyson and Paul’s fight is eight rounds, not ten, looking at the article itself this snippet refers to Paul’s previous fight with Nate Diaz.
Reddit, like most, is also split on whether the fight will be scripted or not, with comments on an r/AskReddit post providing both perspectives:
“It’s too big a deal to be left to chance or talent,” one user argues, in favor of it being fixed, “there’s a lot of money to be made off it.”
One the flip side, another user argues that Tyson would never allow “his reputation to be soiled” by agreeing to lose against “an insufferable YouTuber turned amateur boxer,” whereas Paul similarly would never “agree to lose to a man who is 60 years old regardless of how good they used to be.”
We’ll simply just have to see whether or not the fight ends up lining up with any of these wild predictions, but there’s no doubt that regardless of the result some will pertain that it was all fixed to begin with – especially if Paul wins.
You might just want to avoid any betting based on these predictions – especially if you’re in one of 7 US States banned from doing so ahead of the fight.

No matter your thoughts on the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight, it’s clear some people got very rich off the November 15 boxing match.
With Paul reportedly netting $40 million and Tyson landing a cool $20 million, there was also Netflix sitting pretty as some 60 million households tuned in and broke the stream.
The fight between “The Problem Child” and “Iron Mike” doesn’t seem to be going away, and while Jake Paul has retired from influencer boxing to focus on a wholly professional career, he’s not the only one who could be stepping back into the ring.
Despite his impressive legacy, Tyson officially retired from boxing in 2005 and has since returned for a series of exhibition fights to clear his debts.
The last saw him take on Roy Jones Jr. in a 2020 draw, while his fight against Jake Paul was a fully sanctioned bout that drummed up plenty of controversy.

Many were disappointed with the eight-round fight and its various rule changes, with some saying it was ‘sad’ to see the 58-year-old in the ring.
Others want to see if Tyson was just having a bad day, amid numerous calls for him to take on Paul once again and show the YouTuber what the so-called ‘baddest’ man on Earth can really do.
Among those apparently throwing their weight behind a rematch is Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh who runs the country’s General Entertainment Authority.
According to FTTV Boxing: “Turki Alalshikh offers Mike Tyson $700 million to fight Jake Paul and win by 3-minute KO in a rematch.”
Alalshikh reportedly added: “Jake Paul is a joke. I am giving Mike Tyson $700 million if he agrees to fight Jake Paul this time in a real fight and wins by KO in a maximum of 3 minutes.”
Back in November, Jack Lombardi II wrote a similar post X and said: “Saudi billionaire Turki Alalshikh has made a staggering $700 million offer to Mike Tyson, proposing the prize if Tyson agrees to a rematch against Jake Paul and secures a knockout victory within three minutes. Would you tune in?”
If legitimate, Tyson earning $700 million for a single match would break the $275 million Floyd Mayweather reportedly nabbed for the 2017 fight where he knocked out Connor McGregor.
The details of Alalshikh’s offer haven’t been verified, and there’s no news on whether Tyson will accept the offer. Even if he does, who’s to say Jake Paul will want another go?
In the aftermath of the fight, Paul explained: “I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”
“I tried to give the best fight I possibly could but when someone’s just surviving in the ring basically, it’s hard to make it exciting. I couldn’t really get him to engage me or slip shots and do something super cool or whatever.”
Tyson has been relatively quiet since the match, simply saying he was ‘grateful’ for the opportunity to get in the ring ‘one last time’.
That definitely makes it sound like he’s done, but with $700 million potentially up for grabs, it’s quite the golden carrot to lure him back.

A Florida man is reportedly suing Netflix over the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson stream.
If the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight passed you by, seriously, where have you been? Even before we saw “The Problem Child” take on “Iron Mike”, there had been slaps, trolling, and accusations of fixing, but that’s nothing compared to what came after. With the 27-year-old YouTuber besting the 58-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world based on points, there’s been plenty of uproar.
Still, with viewers amazed that Tyson went all eight rounds, and him already getting plenty of offers to return to the ring, we have a sneaky suspicion this isn’t the end of his boxing career. Well, with him reportedly netting a cool $20 million, we don’t blame him.
The November 15 match didn’t quite go off without a hitch, and while some 60 million households tuned in to watch on Netflix, there were reports of stuttering streams and freezes. The streaming giant has since spoken out about the issues and promised to do better, but apparently, that’s not enough for some.
According to TMZ Sports, a Florida man called Ronald “Blue” Denton is trying to sue Netflix because he struggled to watch the stream. The site claims to have obtained court documents that puts Netflix in the firing line. Presumably because Denton pays a monthly subscription to Netflix, he’d expect some level of service.
Denton apparently says that he faced issues when he tried to tune in at 8pm ET but was “faced with legendary problems, including: no access, streaming glitches, and buffering issues.”
He’s suing Netflix for an unknown amount, citing ‘breach of contract’ and other issues.
Despite Netflix acknowledging the issues, Paul has been taking it in his stride. After the match, he said: “We crashed the site. This is the biggest event.”
It’s been well-documented that there were issues on the night, with Downdetector reporting over 100,000 complaints logged during the fight. In particular, one moment saw the mics of boxing legend Evander Holyfield and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cut off.
