Ring girl for Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson gains 300,000 followers after being crowned ‘real winner’ of infamous fight

The ring girl from last week’s infamous fight has shot to fame.

While most eyes were on Jake Paul and Mike Tyson during their fight at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, it seems someone was stealing the spotlight from the pair of boxers. 60 million households tuned in to watch Jake “The Problem Child” Paul take on Mike “Iron Mike” Tyson on Netflix, with the November 15 fight grabbing headlines around the world. Both reportedly made millions off the back of the bout and Tyson suggested he’ll return to the ring again soon, so could we see the return of the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world after he ‘retired’ in 2005?

With boos from the crowd when Paul stepped out, it seems most were on the side of Tyson, hoping to prove that old dogs can still learn new tricks.

Still, Tyson was the underdog on the betting scene, while Paul came out on top and won based on points after eight rounds. As well as complaints that the match was ‘boring’, others are claiming that the whole thing was rigged.

Away from the boxers, someone else has come out on top, with ring girl Sydney Thomas seeing her social media presence soar. The 20-year-old model set pulses racing, with viewers unable to take their eyes off her and flocking to socials to find her.

Although Thomas was one of five ring girls, she was the one that people noticed. Posting on TikTok, Thomas has been enjoying her new-found fame. “I’m happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!!” she said in a video that was captioned, “Waking up to see I’m trending for the Tyson v Paul fight.” Thomas has added another 300,000 followers to her Instagram, and at the time of writing, she has 608k followers. It continues to climb after Thomas was dubbed the ‘real’ champion of the match and someone said: “Honestly, the real champ here. She brought more action to the ring than the actual fight.”

Another gushed: “All eyes were on you in an event of this magnitude ..wow…that beautiful…😍”

Others suggest she’ll have a bright future, with someone else adding: “Remember when the world became obsessed with Pamela Anderson when she was spotted on the big screen at a college football game?

“Similar vibes to Sydney Thomas right now. Every social media I am on has been all her since Friday night. She’s gonna be huge.”

Responding on Instagram to her new followers, Thomas thanked them and said: “I woke up to an overwhelming amount of love and support from all of you. I can’t thank you guys enough or begin to express how grateful I am. I love you all — thank you for your kind words.”

Thomas currently balances her modeling with studying at the University of Alabama, but something tells us her modeling career is about to skyrocket.

Considering Thomas only made her ring girl debut in an October match in Puerto Rico, it looks like her viral status could be the start of something big. Is she the new Hawk Tuah girl, or will she be around a little longer?

Their much-hyped boxing match will have to wait for another day

It looks like it’s Paul vs Paul, as Jake and Logan Paul have finally revealed what they’ve been teasing us all with. After making their names on YouTube, the pair have become intertwined with boxing since they first stepped into the ring in August 2018 and took on another set of brothers. Back then, Logan Paul drew with fellow YouTuber KSI, while Jake beat KSI’s younger brother, Deji Olatunji.

That fateful night kickstarted Jake Paul’s impressive boxing career, which spans 11 wins and just one defeat – losing out to Tommy Fury. Jake Paul’s most infamous fight is his November 2024 bout with Mike “Iron Mike” Tyson, where the young upstart controversially beat the former heavyweight champion of the world. There was disappointment that the record-breaking Netflix fight didn’t deliver, with some even accusing Paul’s Most Valuable Productions of fixing the whole thing.

Although many would like to see Jake Paul settle his beef with KSI, you’ll have to settle for a reality show starring the pair.

Announced during an Instagram Live, Jake and Logan Paul confirmed their cryptic tease of a brother versus brother boxing match is actually their own reality TV series calling Paul American. The pair threw down some smack talk, with Logan Paul turning up at Jake’s house and demanding he step outside. Logan kept telling his brother to ‘step up’, but it was clear they were doing a bit.

After exchanging a few shoves, the brothers embraced and revealed that they won’t be fighting each other…at least not yet. Many think that Jake Paul would easily beat Logan due to the latter being typically associated with wrestling, but for now, you won’t be finding out.

The boisterous brothers hinted that they might eventually step into the ring together, but for now, it’s just another tease.

If you want a taste of what’s to a come, a teaser of Paul American was also released alongside the announcement. Yes, it’s just as chaotic as you’d assume.

Promising more that they’ll be more controversial than ever before, and with Jake saying we’ll get some unprecedented access into THAT Tyson fight, this could be a big one for Max’s ratings.

Fans claim this is the moment they realized the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight was ‘rigged’

Some viewers have called it ‘sad’ to watch

We always knew there would be controversy surrounding the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight, but in the aftermath of the former’s victory, there are claims that the whole thing was ‘rigged.’ Even before Jake “The Problem Child” Paul and Mike “Iron Mike” Tyson stepped into the ring, there were complaints that the fight wasn’t as fair as it could be. Controversial rule changes involved heavier gloves and shorter rounds, although it was unclear who these would be benefitting.

The 27-year-old YouTuber lasted all eight rounds with the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and while both survived without being knocked out, the 58-year-old Tyson was particularly showing signs of fatigue by the end. Paul won based on points, and alongside those who’ve branded the whole fight as ‘boring’, others are going one step further to claim it was fixed in Paul’s favor.

leaked ‘script’ for the fight suggested Paul would win, but with Tyson supposedly being knocked out in Round 5, it looks like it was an elaborate hoax. As for the real claims that things were fixed, fans think they’ve pinpointed the exact moment they can prove it was rigged for Paul.

During one (not) knockout moment, Tyson is seen punching Paul with the full force that echoes his glory days before his retirement in 2005. Considering 44 of Tyson’s 50 wins have resulted in a KO, he’s not a guy to be messed with.

When someone posted the punch on X with the caption, “Mike still got it in him,” others quickly took to the comments.

One mused: “He could of slammed Jake. Even in training you can see the power. He just held back because the contract had to have Jake winning.”

Another defiantly said: “Rigged – I won’t watch another match with Jake Paul nor his production company.”

Jumping on the conspiracy theory bandwagon, someone else concluded: “Man, how much Mike make to sign the NDA?”

Others weren’t convinced and simply said that Tyson’s peak is behind him. With Paul being some 31 years Tyson’s junior, it’s become an online joke. As well as some suggesting Paul should fight Joe Biden next, others have been saying he wouldn’t have stood a chance against Tyson back in his prime.

On the flip side of accusations about Tyson reining it in, Paul controversially said he went ‘easy’ on Tyson in a post-match interview. He went on to say: “I was trying to hurt him a little bit. I was scared he was going to hurt me, I was trying to hurt him…”

When asked if Paul eased off in later rounds, he added: “Yeah, definitely, definitely a bit. I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want [to hurt him].”

With Paul tipped to have made a cool $40 million from the fight and Tyson netting $20 million, both are going home with substantially fatter wallets. Even though Tyson has maintained it’s about the glory instead of the money, a growing number are claiming that he was paid a substantial sum just to lose.

Even if this was the case, it’s unlikely that we’d ever really find out, so we’ll have to leave the conspiracy theorists to it. Still, if Tyson wants to try and prove himself in a rematch, we’re sure another 60 million households would tune in out of morbid curiosity.

Jake Paul has defeated Mike Tyson via unanimous decision after the pair took to the ring in Texas.

The fight took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and was live streamed around the world on Netflix for those tuning in from home.

Prior to the event, a leaked ‘script’ for the fight began to circulate social media, which left viewers feeling sceptical.

Now the fight is over, there’s a few similarities viewers can’t help but notice.

Shared on social media, the alleged ‘script’ in question detailed a round-by-round breakdown that ended in Round 5 with a knockout victory for Jake Paul.

It featured highlights such as Tyson appearing ‘a fraction slower than in his prime’ in Round 1 but ‘coming alive’ in Round 2.

Fatigue sets in for the 58-year-old as time wears on though, with Paul’s ‘perfectly devastating’ right hand knocks Tyson out for the count.

Now, there’s absolutely no confirmation that this leaked ‘script’ is legitimate, but people have brought to attention the similarities it has to the actual outcome.

Tyson did start the fight strong, but like it states, as the match progressed, Paul quickly began to come out stronger.

All three judges scored the fight for Paul, 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.

The 27-year-old landed 78 punches from 278 thrown (28 percent), while Tyson landed just 18 punches from 97 thrown, according to Netflix.

Despite his loss, people sang Tyson’s praises online.

“The fact that Tyson was able to stay in it for 8 rounds at 58, against a 27 year old is an achievement in of itself,” one viewer wrote on X.

Another sang the boxers praises, saying: “Honestly Mike Tyson won. let’s see if Jake Paul can beat a 27 year old in 31 years.”

“For a 58 Y/O man Mike Tyson did very well all things considered,” shared a third.

In the run up, Tyson also faced some serious health problems, which he spoke about in their Netflix documentary.

The boxer revealed that he was ‘throwing up blood’ and feared he was ‘going to die’.

‘They found I had a big ulcer, two-and-a-half inches, and it was bleeding. All my friends were calling me like I was dying.”

Whilst it’s very likely that the ‘script’ for the outcome was just written up by AI or manufactured by a fan beforehand – you have to admit, it’s similar in places.

Jake Paul reveals one regret from Mike Tyson fight

There is one thing the YouTuber wishes had been different

Jake Paul has revealed his one regret from his fight against Mike Tyson.

The YouTuber went head to head with the former boxing champion earlier this month.

The highly anticipated fight at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas, was watched in person by 80,000 fans, with 65 million more streaming the action live on Netflix.

Paul came out victorious in the ring and has since shared his one regret from the win.

No, it has got nothing to do with the fact that he failed to achieve a knockout.

Instead, according to him, Paul actually did not want a knockout fight.

After the match, Paul told reporters: “I wanted to give the fans a show. I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”

However, the content creator recently appeared on his brother Logan’s podcast, Impaulsive, to share his thoughts on the fight.

Paul said: “I wish he would have put up a better fight so I could have risen more and done more.

“He was surviving, so that was the only thing I didn’t like.”

The fight was originally due to go ahead in July but had to be postponed when Tyson suffered health issues.

In the video, Logan said: “Some people were disappointed in Mike’s performance. They thought Mike would give more. You see those videos of him going crazy hard on those pads.”

To which Paul responded: “People are like, ‘Oh, it’s rigged because look at him on the pads, but he didn’t do this in the fight’. Because someone is f***ing punching back, you dumb f***s.

“You don’t realize my power, and my speed, and my agility, and my footwork to get out of the way of those punches.”

“All of a sudden he’s throwing at air. He can’t land those punches on me.

“He was hard to hit. He was elusive. I was missing a lot of punches. I don’t know how he gets off to the side like that.”

And apparently the punches that Tyson did land failed to have much impact on the social media influencer.

Paul went on to claim: “Didn’t feel a thing, to be honest. It didn’t hurt. He didn’t really land anything.”

It isn’t yet known who Paul’s next opponent will be, having previously lost in a head to head battle against Tommy Fury.

Paul said: “I want to be a world champion, that’s my goal.”
